Category 1: Predictive Analysis

Predictive analysis is used to make predictions about unknown future events using advanced techniques like data mining, statistics, modelling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Challenge 1

The challenge is to produce a method that can locate S1(lub) and S2(dub) sounds within audio data. The training dataset is collected via the iStethoscope Pro iPhone app and from a clinic trial in hospitals that provide the exact location of S1 and S2 sounds for some of the audio files. You need to use them to identify and locate the S1 and S2 sounds of all the heartbeats in the unlabelled dataset.

Challenge 2

The challenge is to produce a method that can classify real heart audio (also known as “beat classification”) into one of five categories:
Normal
Murmur
Extra Heart Sound
Artifact
Extrasystole

Category 2: Mobile Application

Applications for mobile devices and smartphones are used in every sector today. Specialized mobile applications are used by professionals in the medicine space and patients alike to record data and diagnose conditions.

Challenge 1

Develop an application where a patient can do the following: Upload or enter their prescription along with the available medicine. Enter doctor/medical assistant details

This application should also perform the following functions:

Remind the patient when it is time to take their medicine, and then remind them to tap “Medicine taken” afterward. Order their medicine to their registered medical store via WhatsApp.
If the patient doesn’t click the “Medicine taken” button, then it should message the doctor or medical assistant that the patient has skipped their medicine.

Challenge 2

In most of the diet journal apps, users have to select their food from a long list that is filled with a lot of ambiguous food items. This makes diet logging and food tracking a very cumbersome process. Your challenge is to make this process more automatic by streamlining the process through computer vision and location services.

Category 3: Chatbots

A chatbot is an intelligent computer program that communicates with human beings via a textual mode. Typically used in customer service or information acquisition, they are increasingly finding use in various industries and fields.

Challenge 1

Create a chatbot engine that ask patients their age, sex, allergies, and medical problems and can also process any needed queries related to medical assistance. It should be able to suggest preliminary assistance.

Challenge 2

Build a chatbot/question-answer tool that can help patients decide what diagnostic tests they should undergo based on the symptoms they are experiencing.

Category 4: Wearables

Wearables are smart electronic devices that are worn on the body as an accessory and incorporate practical features and functions. Using technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), they communicate with other devices and software to exchange and process data.

Challenge 1

Create a Google Glass application that can help visually-impaired people recognize all denominations of currency notes. For example, the application could read out what note denomination has been scanned.

Challenge 2

Create an application that captures the data (pulse, sleep duration, calories burned, etc.) generated from wearables and, based on 30 days of data collection, analyzes the user’s lifestyle and predicts if they is prone to any Heart-related diseases.
